booking tours onboard

The shore excursions are now available to book online for our Sea Princess cruise in April. Everything is available except for Montego Bay which just says book onboard. Has anyone any ideas why this would happen for just one port and not the others.

Since you mentioned Montego Bay, we were just there over X-Mas holidays. We booked a taxi tour (there are route operators) at port. Before you take off on one of those taxis, make certain you have an understanding with the driver before leaving. We were quoted $160 to drive 4 people to Dunns Falls and "have the driver for the day" per the lady @ port. After we got on the taxi, the driver said what the lady told us was incorrect. The $160 was for the ride (not incl tickets which were $15 each). He said he will give us a "tour" and that was extra. The tour was just 2 stops and a drive thru Downtown with no explanation at what we were looking at. That "tour" was an extra $20 per couple. The best deal is the straight $35/hour to drive you around. As we were about 1 hour into the ride, we figured it was best to go $35/hr. The driver said he couldn't do that because the price/tour was already "arranged" at port and he couldn't change it. I call BS on that one but we didn't feel like arguing with him due to personal safety. The overall cost was still less than booking it on board.

Good luck and have a great time!

IMO...whenever in Jamaica we book with the ship approved tours only. Glad Princess is dropping this port in 2010 as too many people have been unhappy & felt in danger. Be careful.
