basil1 Posted January 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2009 Has anyone eaten at the Babouch restaurant on Gaffey St.? I love Moroccan food and bellydancing (I have studied Middle Easten dance for a few years now). Thanks.
Curt Jerome Wild Posted January 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2009 It can be very hit and miss here. Definitely not the best you can find (for a restaurant in general) in the area. But if you manage your expectations, and can be prepared for either hitting on a great night - or just an average night, and the style of the place is more important to you... You might enjoy it a lot. Hopefully Wineaux (a San Pedro local) might chime in on this, as he may have gone there a few times very recently. Wineaux Posted January 7, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2009 Believe it or not...I have never gone to Babouch. Only Moroccan food I've had was at Dar Magreb in Hollywood. From what I hear CJW's assessment of the place is accurate.
basil1 Posted January 9, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted January 9, 2009 Thank you for your replies. I'd love to go to the Dar Margreb, but I think it would be too far to venture for the time available. I have an autographed poster of one of their regular dancers with whom I took a workshop a few years ago.
