Sox Fan Cruiser Posted January 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2009 In Juneau, Princess offers an all day tramway pass for $29 a person. But couldn't we just buy a ticket when we get there? What is the price? Are there lines? Since we only will want to go up and down once, not sure what the all day pass gets us.
Yukon Posted January 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2009 DON'T buy the Mt. Roberts pass ahead of time - whether or not it's worthwhile depends on the weather. All-day passes are $24.95 at the tramway (which is right at the cruise ship docks) and there are no lineups to speak of - http://www.goldbelttours.com/travel/day_trips/juneau/tram.html After going up during the day some time, it's nice to go back up in the evening and watch the city lights come on - that's the point of all-day for us. ktravel Posted January 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2009 Is it cheaper for one trip? We will not be back from whale watching excursion till 4:40 ish and back on ship no later than 7:30. I think we would only have time for one trip.

Yukon Posted January 12, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2009 If you're feeling VERY ambitious, you can ride down for 5 bucks if you hike up the mountain (even fewer people take advantage of that! :D )

Or just takes time?
Yukon Posted January 12, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2009 Is it a tough hike? Or just takes time? It's VERY steep, almost always muddy and quite long.
