Restaurants Near Candlewood Suites

Got a terrific rate but am a little leary of what is around the Candlewood Suites beside the HI Express on State Road 84. It states that there is a grocery store 1/2 block east but that is the only information on its site.

By the Winn-Dixie is Wendy's, Subway, McDonald's, takeout pizza, takeout Chinese. Closeby is Old Heidelberg German Restaurant, and a mile east is Lester's Diner. I wouldn't walk around after dark. There isn't much else around. It's a short cab ride to Rustic Inn, Tropical Acres, or Islamorada Fish Company.

Thanks! The German restaurant sounds good for dinner and McDonalds will do for breakfast before the 14 day cruise.

I haven't been there in a few years, but I remember that it had a lot of character and someone at our table ordered something that resembled something from the Flintstones! Have a great vacation!
