bankerlkd Posted January 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2009 We arrive back from our cruise on Superbowl Sunday and do not fly out til the next morning. Looking for some good sports bars for the FIL and I to watch the game. Preference would be a smoke free place. Any recommendations?
royalcruz Posted January 13, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 13, 2009 Any of the Ale Houses are great. There are tvs everywhere you look. The food is pretty good too, for a sports bar. There is one on N. Federal Hwy. near E. Oakland Park Blvd, and there is one in Hollywood in Oakwook Plaza between Stirling Road and Sheridan St. No smoking in any restaurants, just places that are only bars, so it is smoke-free...Get there early!!! Bequia Posted January 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2009 On S.E.17th just inside the entrance to the Harbor Shops plaza (behind the Embassy Suites) is the Original Steakhouse and Sports Theater. It's a huge room from which at least 12 huge (make that humongous) television screens are suspended from the walls. The light cast from the projectors gives you an eerie feeling that you have indeed entered a kind of theater, one entirely devoted to armchair athletics. I can think of no better place to watch a game. /////

Bequia Posted January 14, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 14, 2009 Rumor within the restaurant mill was that they'd be both re-opening for the Superbowl. Guess will have to wait and see. ;) /////
matisse2 Posted April 20, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 20, 2009 We tried to go to the Original Steakhouse in December 2008 only to find it not open. We really liked this place and were disappointed it was closed. The food was always good and we liked all of the televisions. Does anyone know if it re-opened or plans to re-open?
