Hire taxi at Pier??

Has anyone hired a taxi at the Pier? Would like to do a few hour tour of the island and don't really want to see the same ol' stops.

Have been to St. Thomas 3 times and did the tours. I'm not wanting to rent a car. Did that once and NEVER again, it's just crazy!

You can go to the taxi dispatcher/stand and explain that you want a private tour and they will line you up with a driver. It will be more $ than joining a group tour. Best bet if its just a few of you would be if there is a smaller van/taxi which there usually aren't too many of. If your group is big then some of the larger vehicles can hold up to 26 passengers. Research the stops you'd like to make so you can discuss it with the driver.
