PINEVIEW01 Posted January 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2009 I would think you would have to book thru the blog group (carnival) to get to go to all the "stuff" or at least pay something they have set up on the ship to belong. Hope you get better help
KroozFoolz Posted January 16, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2009 There is a Bloggers Cruise fare code that must be used when you book to be included in the Bloggers activities on the cruise. (I think it is CPBL - that's the code for the upcoming Fantasy Bloggers Cruise - it may be different for Dream.) You might want to contact your TA or Carnival (depending on which you used to book). firefly333 Posted January 16, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2009 Did you have to pay more or the Fantasy Bloggers cruise the rates are not static, they change as the first group of cabins Carnival allocated ran out, then they provide some more at a higher price. The price is similar to what the going rate is, plus they got $100 OBC per cabin on top of the booking. There probably are no more group cabins to book to be on the bloggers for Feb Fantasy for instance, so nothing to compare.
jetskier Posted January 16, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2009 Did you have to pay more or the Fantasy Bloggers cruise I believe Mach was looking into making one of those trips on the Dream a Cruise Critic Group Cruise. You will have to wait for him to post with the answer. But to answer your question quoted, yes the fare is higher than a standard fare booked directly through Carnival. If you were able to book with one of the groups going the fare was lower plus you were able to get an OBC, champagne, strawberries and a one hour open bar. *Mach* Posted January 16, 2009 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2009 Yeah... booking it as a Blogger would be a higher price fare. The higher price is due additional goodies that you'll be getting as a Blogger rather than a plain vanilla passenger... Typically, that includes t-shirts, cocktail parties, dinner and lunches with John and some special gifts... I'm sure that you can rebook with the Blogger's fare code if you're interested... :)
