Retired 07 Posted January 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2009 Is it necessary to book the $14 tickets for the shuttle in advance for May this year? If so, is there just one company that does this? Would anybody know the name? Thanks!
Chat Noir Posted January 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2009 We did not purchase in advance. The ticket stand is between pier and the shuttle pick-up/drop-off point. This thread will give you a bit more information. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=770913
SOMBRERO6 Posted January 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2009 We bought our tickets after we got off the ship. It was quite foggy earlier in the day so we waited until it cleared and then we walked a short distance from the pier. We bought a pkg for the shuttle to Mendenhall and also the Mt. Roberts Tram. But you really don't want to do the tram if it's foggy. You will love Alaska!
budamom Posted January 21, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2009 I'll jump in here - Can you purchase a one way pass at the Glacier to get back into town? We are taking Harv and Marv's and they said they would drop us at Mendenhall after our whale tour. Thanks!
AlFrank Posted January 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2009 We are also on Harv and Marv. They said they stay at MG Park for about 20 minutes. If you want more time just purchase a ticket there for the return to the ship or you can return to the ship with them if 20 mins is enought time.
