My wife and I will be on IOS in march and we have booked a stateroom with balcony on deck 10. We are wondering what the balconys are like? How big are they do they have any furniture out there? Since we are on the 10th deck will the top be open or will there be something over the balcony? Just curious if the wife will be able to suntan out there. Thanks for all of your help!

All balconies are covered by the deck above. (Deck 11 is above you) You may get sun either early morning or late afternoon, depending on which direction you're headed. Tanning is best done at the pool!

Most balconies (standard cabins and JS's) have 2 chairs and a small patio table. If there's room, there may be a lounge chair. The aft balconies are deeper and usually have 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a dining sized table. Of course, suites will have more furniture, since the balconies will be larger (wider).

We are in a standard cabin. What is an aft cabin? Thank you for your help!!

Aft cabins are ones in the very back of the ship that face the opposite direction of where the ship is moving. The balconies in these cabins are often around 3x larger than the balconies of cabins on the sides of the ship in the same categroy.
