mzche1999 Posted January 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2009 I want to book our cruise for my family of four. If I just pay a deposit for me and hubby can the kids be added later? Do rates for 3rd and 4th passenger go up? Hugs, Chelle
wrp96 Posted January 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2009 Whether or not you can add someone at a later date depends. First, yes the 3rd and 4th passenger rates can go up after you've booked. They can also go down. Second, the ships have a maximum capacity that is less than the number of berths onboard the ship. So even if you book a cabin that will accommodate 4 people, if the ship has reached maximum capacity they can not let you add a 3rd or 4th passenger to the room. If you think you want to take your kids with you, you are better off booking them now instead of trying to add them at a later date. You can always cancel them from the reservation before final payment.
cb at sea Posted January 25, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2009 Book them now (and pay the deposit) and cancel later, if you have to! Depending on how quickly the ship fills will depend if you can add someone else later! Just because your room will sleep 4, doesn't mean they'll allow more "souls" aboard! bplazo Posted January 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2009 We ran into this problem one year when we were going to add my daughter's friend to our cruise. The third and fourth passenger quota was filled so we just ended up booking an extra cabin.
