Any soot on Ruby aft balcony cabins?

We will be sailing in our 1st aft balcony cabin on Ruby (C753) in a couple of weeks. Has anyone experienced any soot on their aft balconies/furniture?

I haven't had an aft balcony on Princess but we did on Royal Caribbean. And there was some soot but just make sure you wipe the rails and funiture before use. It in no way hindered or took away any fun. The aft balconys IMHO are the greatest.

Have sailed in C752 or C753 4 times now on various Grand Class Princess ships - never even a hint of soot. The balcony is fully covered by overhang that extends out from the ceiling above over the railing, so it would be difficult for anything from above to blow onto the deck.

I have not been on Ruby, but I have been on many aft cabins on the Caribe deck & they are fully covered. Can't imagine where the soot would come from. Had a loud vent on emerald, but never any soot. Hope you enjoy the aft as much as we do.

We sailed the Ruby in C-752 and no soot.

A considerable effort goes into the design of the cruise ship funnels to ensure that any soot is carried well clear of the ship. It should be highly unlikely (at least for Princess and Cunard designs) that any soot should descend on you unless it is from a smoker above flicking ash.
