kdee69 Posted January 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2009 Can anyone help me re the following: On the two week sailing in July around the Med, will there still be 4 formal nights (wasn't sure as it's predominantly a family cruise) Are long shorts allowed in the dining room (my 9 year old not DH:D) If we order a bottle of wine at dinner, can we take it to a bar with us later rather than have it stored? If we are Freedom dining, is it likely we could get a table for two? Has anyone got a list of spa prices? Or a wine menu? Do the kids clubs close at meal times? Sorry if it seems like a lot, I jsut thought I'd bullet them to make it easier if anoyne is kind enoguht to reply
BrianI Posted January 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2009 Hi there There will be four formal nights, the remainder will be smart casual Shorts are not allowed in the dining room but dont think this will apply to small boys If you dont drink all the wine at dinner, the waiter will keep it and have it on your table the following night. You can order by the glass and the cost works out around the same. Not done freedom dining but one of the joys of cruising is conversation at the dinner table so we always go for a larger table. Freedom opens at 6pm so if you go then it wont be busy The kids clubs are open until late evening. There is a childrens meal served around 5:15pm in the Waterside/Beach house area which your boy may or may not want to go to. As there is always somewhere you can eat on the ship 24hours there is really no such thing as "meal times" especially if you on freedom and I believe the kids club is open continuously. However you cannot go off the ship and leave your kids on board, but you can if you wish have dinner on your own with your children in the kids club. Cant answer your question on spa prices or wine menu. Hope this helps Brian

snikrup Posted January 28, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2009 I wasn't a passenger, I was crew but I can answer your Q on kids clubs. The kids clubs are open throughout the evening, they do not shut. You will need to take your child out for meals. However, occasionally there are teen dinners, where the youth staff take the children to tea. The staff love it as they can eat with them! ;) Trust me, the food in the crew mess is not nice!! Ventura runs "Family Dining" between 5pm and 10pm. During this time you can get "kids tea". Hope that helps.
Elaine0138 Posted January 29, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Yes you can get tables for 2 on Freedom dining, only on 2 occassions did we have to wait, once for about 5 mins didn't even make it to the bar the second time had to wait about 15 mins
lostinvegas Posted January 29, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Stella ½ pint £1.35Stella pint £2.60 Bottle Grolsch £2.35 Budweiser £2.35 Magners Cider £3.45 Speckled Hen £2.40 Can Boddingtons £2.10 Bottle Pinot Grigio £13.50 Bottle Chardonney £16.50 Those prices are less than on Carnival, they seem like regular UK pub prices apart from the Magners which is a little expensive. I assume that there is no tax on alcahol as your at sea? Chris
