Has anyone ever stayed in a hostal before?

 

I was looking at hotels in Barcelona and came across a list of hostals. I always thought they were like college dorms or something, but they looked like they could be fun???

 

Any experience? Any advice?

I haven't, but if you're open to staying in one, there are some nice ones out there. Check tripadvisor.com. I've read reviews for hostels in Amsterdam, so I'd assume Barcelona should have some reviews as well.

yes, they are for the younger set, this doesn't mean you can't give them a try, but it will be an experience.
