I'm expecting 3 formal nights on 2/15 Millenium cruise...but what does "smart casual and above" mean? I thought some nights would be casual (no jacket for men) and others would be informal (sport jacket for men)...please enlighten me!

Hi Meenie,

According to the Celebrity website, on a 12-night cruise, there are 3 formal nights and 9

"smart casual and above" nights. This is the new dress code. http://www.celebritycruises.com/befo...me=faq_answers

Examples of "Smart Casual and Above" and "Formal" attire include:

Smart Casual and Above

Ladies: Skirt or pants (no holes, rips or tears) complemented by sweater or blouse.

Gentlemen: Pants (no holes, rips or tears) with sports shirt or sweater. Shirts must have sleeves.

Note: T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurant at any time. Shorts and flip flops are not allowed in the evening hours. Additionally, guests are asked to follow the "Smart Casual and Above" dress code in the Celebrity Theater for all evening performances.

Formal

Ladies: Cocktail dress, gown or dressy pantsuit

Gentlemen: Tuxedo, suit or dinner jacket with slacks

Celebrity eliminated the "informal" nights within the last year or so. Now, it is either formal or smart casual. Here is information from the Dress Code FAQ section of the Celebrity website:

Edit: Sorry for repeating above post. Is it 'great minds think alike' or 'idiots seldom differ'?
