There are a couple post here that give lots of details. I'll keep looking for more info. Helsingborg is one of our stops too.

 

I looked up Fredriksdal. It looks good for a DIY trip - only 2 km away from Helsingbor city center.

You can do both Helsingborg and Helsingör(In Denmark) in one day.

The ferry between the cities leaves every 20 minutues and goes directly into the cities-both lovely. Sweden is cheaper though.

For the garden lovers take the local bus to Sofiero castle on the swedish

side. The bus ride is only 15 minutes and costs 2 dollars. In spring, summer and early autumn it is lovely. This was the "summer house" of the former swedish king. see www.sofiero.helsingborg.se in english.

It opens in April 11- the entrance is 10 dollars. In winter it is free, but not

much to see.
