bakery Posted January 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2009 Can anyone tell me about the port of Helsingborg? Would it be easy for us to make our own way from the port to see the town, without having to take a shore excursion? Thank you!
Grannycb Posted January 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2009 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=616012&highlight=helsingborg There are a couple post here that give lots of details. I'll keep looking for more info. Helsingborg is one of our stops too. I looked up Fredriksdal. It looks good for a DIY trip - only 2 km away from Helsingbor city center. http://www.fredriksdal.se/Main.aspx?id=7406&epslanguage=EN One more interesting page: http://www.cruisebaltic.com/media(518,1033)/Helsingor_Helsingborg.pdf
pyttan6 Posted January 29, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 29, 2009 www.helsingborg.com in english You can do both Helsingborg and Helsingör(In Denmark) in one day. The ferry between the cities leaves every 20 minutues and goes directly into the cities-both lovely. Sweden is cheaper though. For the garden lovers take the local bus to Sofiero castle on the swedish side. The bus ride is only 15 minutes and costs 2 dollars. In spring, summer and early autumn it is lovely. This was the "summer house" of the former swedish king. see www.sofiero.helsingborg.se in english. It opens in April 11- the entrance is 10 dollars. In winter it is free, but not much to see. Hope to see you soon in Sweden, Pyttan
