TACA and/or Avianca

Has anyone flown either of these airlines? Are they safe and reliable?

Looking for flights from Santiago, Chile to JFK and these 2 airlines seem to be least expensive. I have also posted this query on the cruise air forum but thought more people might read this forum. Also, has anyone booked air thru cruiseline from Santiago - which airline did they use?

I have used TACA several times. I am from Costa Rica and used Taca to go to US or SA. I just flew Taca to Asuncion Paraguay and then took it back from Santiago after our cruise. No problem at all, good service and on time.

;)AVIANCA has safe, reliable and very enjoyable service! I have used it many times flying to/from JFK, MIA, MAdrid, Medellin, Bogota, Cartagena and San Andres Island.

I used AVIANCA last April and was surprised that they were such a great airline, Equipment was new and service was wonderful. I would not hesitate to use them again.

flew taca Lax to costa rica and back no problems nice flight
