Green Apple Martini

Italian Nancy

Recommended Posts

Nancy, I don't know what it is - but I got the "recipe" for the Apricot Sour last year on the Century.

Haven't even come close to making it taste the same - and I'm a passable bartender.

Nothing on the internet recipe sites helps at all.

Good luck on your mixing.

Personally,

I like one and a half jiggers of sour apple and half a jigger of vodka, shake

vigorously!. I've also had Sour Apple-Tinis when they dip the rim of the

glass in a cinnamon-sugar mixture as well.

And a friend of mine mixed up these drinks on the 4th of July and added just

a spritz of 7-Up to them. All versions tasted quite yummy

My husband finds them too potent to drink. Used to put one jigger of each

and it was powerful!!!

1.5 oz VanGough Wild Apple vodka

1.5 oz Apple Pucker Schnapps

1 oz Contreau

garnish with tiny green apple slices

Shake over ice for a full minuite (hold in a towel as it gets cold!)

Then pour through strainer into a martini glass & add garnish.

My wife loves green apple martinis and had has about every variation ever created. However (ahem, and puffing up of chest) she says the recipe I created is the absolute best. I present it for your quaffing pleasure.

One jigger of Van Gogh Appel Vodka (or any other quality vodka)

One jigger of DeKuyper Green Apple Schnappes

One jigger of Midori Melon Liqueur....

Shake vigorously and pour into a large (5 oz or more) martini glass where you have already swirled caramel syrup. Let me know what you think.

Note to guys: I think this probably definitely qualifies as a "chick" drink. I, personally, will stick to my classic gin and vermouth martinis.

Yes, we got this from Sudi, himself. I have it written -- in his own hand -- on a bar receipt form we brought home from the Constellation.

Note that it predates Celebrity's switch to the Van Gogh brand vodka - so he's probably making it differently now. (And while I love the current ones being served on Celebrity, I think the Absolut citron - or other decent lemon vodka - makes an outstanding drink - not to mention the fact that it's cheaper than the Van Gogh.)

1.5 oz. Absolut citron

1 oz. Apple pucker schnapps

1/2 oz. Cointreau

dash lemon juice.

Lately, I've made it with an extra bit of vodka - say, 2 oz. The apple experience is there but more subtle.

Yum...I think I'll make one this evening!
