I will be cruising into Progreso in March. My family and I would like to go to a "nice" beach. Any suggestions on which beach to go to?

That depends on how you define "nice". The beach at the end of the pier was "nice" in my opinion. I suggest you read some of the threads on here as there are lots of topics on the beach options at Progreso.

The beach at Progreso IS nice. Don't expect the chrystal clear water of the Carribbean. It's on the Gulf. Very good restaurants across the street will serve you on the beach or in the restaurants. This stop has more options for your day than most any other western port.

There is a free shuttle bus on the pier that will take you into Progreso. The beach is a short walk from the drop-off point. You will be able to see the beach to the left as you ride the shuttle bus into town.

 

When you are ready to go back, make your way to the drop-off point and get on a shuttle bus headed back to the ship.
