Riley's Mom Posted February 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2009 Since we do not have a balcony cabin this year, can anyone suggest a good quiet place to chill and read a book that is away from the crowds? Thanks. Carla

Joaljoe Posted February 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2009 If you want to be outside I guess you can pretty much pick a chair anywhere and do some reading and relaxing. By the pool is nice but their will always be some noise. I saw a lot of people actually read inside if you don't mind not being outside. The promenade deck has a bunch of lounge chairs when you walk straight down....you can sit near a window and it's not overly crowded or loud. :)
vacruizer Posted February 6, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2009 I love the outside deck on deck 3 just outside the purser's desk. There are usually 4 or 5 deck chairs out there and almost no one there. It's shaded so if you are looking for sun it's not for you - but I sunburn easily so shade is good! If you are sensitive to smoke use the port side deck - the entertainment staff does use the starboard side for smoke breaks a lot as well as an occasional passenger (it is allowed on that side) but the deck is really long so you won't be packed in next to anyone either. Riley's Mom Posted February 6, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted February 6, 2009 Thank you. I will have to try the port side deck 3.. I like to enjoy the fresh ocean breezes..but not so much the sun...so this should be great. Carla

YES! this is MY FAV spot on the ship to take an evening nap around 5pm when the main seating guests are getting ready. It is so relaxing out there. :D David. Norske Posted February 7, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Go to the 10th floor, head forward past the rooms on port side. Take door on the right at the end of the hall. Lots of sun and privacy. No chairs though.

Tbay-eh Posted February 7, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Out the secret door - but like one others said no lounge chairs. I personally like the deck just above the Lido - under an overhang but full ocean view and funky moulded chairs. Met some of the greatest and long time friends in this area. Norske Posted February 22, 2009 #11 Share Posted February 22, 2009 How about that....the same info from Thunder Bay and Kenora!
VOS08 Posted April 16, 2009 #12 Share Posted April 16, 2009 I saw a thread where the person went out to the very front of the ship and security came and escorted them away. You are allowed to go out the "secret door" aren't you???
Riley's Mom Posted April 16, 2009 Author #13 Share Posted April 16, 2009 I have always been afraid that the door would automatically lock after I got outside and I would be stuck there until someone heard me. Carla

You are allowed to go out the "secret door" aren't you??? I'm not sure anymore. Never had any problem on either of our Liberty of Victory cruises. On the Glory in January the doors were locked most of the week - the one time we went out there a security guard showed up a few minutes later and told us to leave.
