igraack Posted February 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2009 I just saw Capers from the Legend cruise 1/25/09 and it mentions this: Carnival Colors Competition! The Newest Carnival FunShip Activity! Taking the FUN to a new level! The ultimate Team Challenge! Are YOU ready to play? RED TEAM - ODD Cabin Numbers BLUE TEAM - EVEN Cabin Numbers Throughout the cruise, take part in as many fun activities as you can & win points for your team! Sounds like good ol' summer camp!! I was wondering any recent cruisers know how that went? What were the contests? Did they keep the theme going all week?? This adds a new wrinkle to packing?? Red or Blue ;) Leaving on Legend 3/15/09... whose on my team

I don't know if they ever really kept score or not? there was never a score board. and it was impossible to make every event and actually keep track. mariemorgan Posted February 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2009 On the Fantasy we had a blue team and red team and at the disembarksion talk i think they told you the final score. I think that they are just trying to get people participating in the activities and by doing a competition on board that would draw more people. MonaCK Posted February 6, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2009 Ours was split into 3 teams and divided by deck level. Interesting that each ship does it differently :)
agavin Posted February 6, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2009 We were on the Legend the week before this one, and the whole competition really didn't seem to have a point... except that it sometimes was used to break groups into teams. We never did hear who won, people seemed to like it well enough... They did a little parade the night of the robe party based on teams, with chants and that... and they picked leaders for the teams... it was based on cabin numbers for our sailing. golfadj Posted February 6, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 6, 2009 Did it on the Miracle last week with two teams. Personally I find it obnoxious and boring but many young people like it. They do not tell you the running score but give results the last evening. Generally you win all the free pizza you can eat. It was kind of cute the first few times but after a while gets kind of boring. Golfadj
glrounds Posted February 6, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 6, 2009 One of my Carnival pet peeves. I don't know how Carnival can promote "Fine Dining Experience", while at the same time, allowing the hoopla and mania around the Colors competition in the dining room, with a straight face. (I usually slam down desert and try to get to hell out of there before the "zoo" starts)
