You can not get a soda from room service or the mini-bar in your room. Other than that, you can get a fountain soda with your card everywhere else.

We never got charged for soda while at breakfast, lunch or dinner at any of the resturants on the ship.

On both of my recent NCL cruises, they always asked for the ships charge card for sodas in restaurants. On the Pearl in the buffet,they had a table set up to sell canned soda and wine and they definitely charged there as well.

That message got me at first too... I think they meant WITH the soda card they never got charged at any of those places.

To the OP,

you will be charged for Canned sodas anywhere on the ship anytime you order one. Just by way of information in case you did not know that.

On Carnival cruises, I found that if you are a person like me who drinks Coke instead of coffee in the early morning, your fountain card is not much help since the bars where the soda are served is not open until mid-morning. Also, the dining rooms do not serve soda either, which means your waiter has to send a cocktail waitress to get your soda, and you can be nearly done eating by the time it arrives. However, the fountain card works well in the afternoon when by the pool.
