c-to-sea Posted February 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Here is the link to one of the many whale watching companies in Victoria. You should contact them directly to check the schedule and duration of evening tours for cruise ship passengers as you are only in port from 1700 to 2359. http://www.princeofwhales.com/victoria_tours_1.html Here is the link to Tourism Victoria's list of other whale watching companies. This site will also give you complete visitor information for Victoria. http://www.tourismvictoria.com/content.aspx?f=General\Outdoor+Adventure&p=Whale+And+Wildlife+Watching.html Enjoy your visit. Putterdude Posted February 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Whale Watching tours is almost an industry in Victoria with more than a dozen opertaors and who knows how many boats. Prince of Whales is the largest operator and a very good one. This Orca Spirit also comes very highly recommended and they operate larger boats that have restrooms which can be a factor for some of us on longer excursions.:) http://www.orcaspirit.com/
M&T Posted April 8, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2009 Thanks for the recommendations for whale watching. Is it recommended to get a reservation? I have not considered an evening cruise. Is this recommended in this area? M
LeftcoastBC Posted April 8, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 8, 2009 The whales seen on the tours out of Victoria are generally local guys. Latest info J Pod has at least one new member. yeah. Reservations are recommended but not always needed.
