nncruise Posted February 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 9, 2009 We are planning a Eastern Mediterranean 7-10 night cruise which includes Greece. We would like any suggestions on cruises fitting this criteria that you enjoyed. Thank you, Nick
jmf123 Posted February 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2009 We haven't been to the Med yet, but we would consider the Celebrity 'Solstice' 10 night (r.t. from Rome) which seems to have a great itinerary and on a brand new ship. Ports include Sicily, Athens, Mykonos, Ephesus, Rhodes, Santorini, and Naples. You may want to also check out Windstar Cruises for their 7 nt. sailings. ddonalds Posted February 23, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2009 We did the Crystal Med cruise - started in Rome, ended in Athens, hit several cities in Italy, Ephesus, Santorini, Mykonos and ended in Athens. LOVED it....:D
Shorex Posted February 23, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2009 Crystal Mediterranean cruises for 2009 are here. Notice that on selected cruises Crystal is giving $2000 per couple on-board credit. This is a new promotion. We were already booked on Crystal for a Med cruise in October and now we will enjoy it even more. If there ever was a time to try Crystal, it is now. rman738 Posted February 24, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 24, 2009 If you're doing the Med., take at least a 10 day cruise with 2 or 3 days pre-cruise to enjoy the port city. We've done 2 Med. (2006 and 2007) and did that both times from Rome. Also, if you leave from Rome, the Port of Civitivecchia is over an hour away from the city and the airport is almost the same in terms of time. Therefore, ensure your departure flight has plenty of time for you to get from the ship to the airport. If not, schedule another day in Rome. Shortie06 Posted February 24, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 24, 2009 My husband and I are planning a Mediterranean Cruise. Can you suggest a cruise line for us? I didn't like any of the reviews from Royal C. and we do like that cruise line. We are looking to go either late August or Sept for our 30th anniversary. Thanks Sandy
