Dawn Princess Cabins

Does anyone know what the space is beside Cabins A506, A505, B506, B505, C506 and C505 on the Dawn/Sun Princess?

I know one side is the Cabin Steward's storeroom but what is on the other side? Is it for the elevator cables for the Panoramic Lifts? When I was on the Sun Princess there was a fire door which was flat against the wall and supposedly closes across the hallway in an emergency but what is behind it? Could it be another set of stairs (for evacuation)? If so does anyone know if they ever get used at other times by crew and does any noise get into these cabins?
