T.A. Problems, May 17 Triumph cruise

Good morning everyone, I have two questions about my upcoming cruise.

1) I saw on the boards that if the price drops you can request the new rate from your T.A. She booked us as a group of 6 rooms for my sons wedding in Jamaica. Some are past cruisers, can she not get the past cruiser rates for us? When I asked for the lower rates she acted like it was a problem, the rate she charged in the beginning was $1013 per person. Now the past cruiser rate is $699 for a cat B balcony room! After many e-mails she has given us a better rate but moved our room?? We went from 6290 balcony to 7366. Did she have to do this to get the better rate?

2) Is 7366 as good a room as 6290?

Thanks,

Les

Good for you for sticking to your guns and getting that much better rate. Sometimes travel agents are reluctant to get the lower rate because they lose commission on it. They make more money at 1000 a person than they do at 700 a person. Your persistence has paid off.

Cabin 7366 is fine. You have moved up one deck which is nice. The cabin location is fine, too. The only difference I see is that in 6290, you'd be closer to the elevator banks near the Capitol atrium...but, that can be a little noisy at times with much traffic..people like those elevators!!

I've sailed on Triumph 4 times, the last being this past December. This is a lovely vessel, well run with a seasoned crew. The dining room service and food is excellent. The Casino bar is a great place for drinks before or after dinner or anytime you want to be near the action. There are small tables for 2 or 4 (or sometimes more) set nearby which is nice. The bar itself gets crowded at times.

Some people find it hard to move around the ship from one end to the other-especially the dining rooms because the galley sits between the two. Here's a tip:

You can get anywhere on the ship from Promenade Deck. Both dining rooms can be reached from there. London room from the main elevators at the atrium; Paris dining room from the last bank of elevators passed the Big Easy and Wine Bar......

Don't forget to catch "Mr. V, the Maitre'd". He is the only dancing Maitre'd I've ever seen!!! Most of them act like stuffed-shirts..but this guy gets right into it... He can be found on top of a table when the music starts.....

Have a great time......and, again, congratulations for saving all that money....more DOD's for you!:p
