What to see on private tour?

I am taking a private tour (just me, DH and the driver) in Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. It will be pretty close to a full day and we can go wherever we chose. Does anyone have any suggestions where we should go or what is a "must-see?" We do not plan to go in the water at all. So no swimming or snorkling. We are doing the whale watch in Cabo. Thanks for your help!:D

it depends on what you like, pv has great views and some very luxurious areas. Mazatlan is more of a mexican working city.

Many folks rave about tour guides that they have had; and if I were considering a private tour, I would consider a highly recommended tour guide.

We actually like to do a lot of things. We do like the water but it will be too cold (at least for me;)) to do water sports. We also like historical things and nature. The driver said we could visit villages where they make homemade furniture and pottery. A tequila factory was also mentioned. Of course, we need a good meal in there sometime and we enjoy beautiful beaches and shopping. So you name it, we, more than likely, would like to do it!:D
