Please tell me your experiences with Flybe in Britain.

I've only flown with them once - last June from Edinburgh to Southampton. They took over this route from BA. No frills but no complaints either. I've booked with them again for June this year for Edinburgh to Cardiff as they were slightly cheaper than bmibaby for the same route.

A pal of mine is the senior training captain with them, so rest assured they are up to scratch in the areas where it really matters. They have however come in for a bit of a pasting on cancellations and delays. I have used them in the past and had no complaints but then they scrubbed the route I used a while back!!!

As timing would have it, the February 2009 issue of ATW (Air Transport World) gave Flybe the Regional Airline of the Year Award (p.30). They say, "Flybe is the leading regional carrier in the UK with an estimated 47% share of the regional domestic passenger market outside London."

According to FlightStats, their on-time record is about 80%.
