lynchie Posted February 13, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Hi all, first time cruiser, Long time thinker. I'm going on the Pacific cruise around QLD leaving Sydney we aren’t going into international waters. I've been hearing mixed answer for what you can and can’t take on the boat in regards to alcohol I’ve heard you can take your own wine? Is this correct and how much. Can you take spirits or beer? Any tips and answers will be greatly appreciated.

If you were on Sun or Dawn Princess you could, but not on P & O Australia.
MargnGrah Posted February 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2009 Hi Lynchie, Unfortunatly what you have heard about taking any alcohol on board is incorrect. NO wine or spirits allowed. If you do try to take any it will be taken from you and given back the night before disembarkation.:o However you are allowed to take any soft drink if you wish.:D On the Princess ships you are allowed to take on board 1 bottle of wine per adult person, but no spirits. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.......
Skyrules Posted February 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2009 And the same will apply at all your ports of call too. We brought liqueur from a Banana plantation near Cairns last month, and we had to surrender it to secure custody when we reboarded the ship. It was delivered to our cabin the night before disembarkation.
Diddles62 Posted February 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2009 As above sorry no alcohol to be taken, We took 4 bottles of fizzy drink and I had to open my case to show them that is wasnt alcohol before we got on board as the scanner showed there was some bottles in the case with something in them. :(
