Cabin choices on the Victory

Hi Carnival Cruisers.

We're new to Carnival (been mostly on P&O, Princess and HAL) and are thinking of a 7-dayer ex-San Juan on the Victory because it's a fantastic itinerary and the price is (well almost) right for a balcony cabin.

At the moment, we're looking at a 8C grade cabin. Are there any tips out there about which cabins to avoid/choose in terms of noise, balcony privacy etc?

Thanks in advance!

I would try and book a balcony cabin which has other cabins above and below. Look at deck plans.

If you are below an un-carpeted floor, sometimes chair scraping can come right thru the floor and they start cleaning decks at 6 AM.

If seasickness is a worry, pick mid-ship.

Also, avoid cabins above or below places a band might play, casino, pool area, lounges, bars, etc.

One final idea, if you don't want long walks to places, book close to elevators or stairs.

I always book a balcony and I am usually on the verandah deck, close to front elevators and stairs (and atrium)

Also, avoid partially obstructed balconies (lifeboat in front) but I don't think there are any 8C cabins with this problem.

We have a Victory cruise coming up, 8C balcony, Verandah Deck.

from what I've heard the most important thing is to make sure you're not below the Lido deck (deck chairs scraping very early) and not too close to the bars and casinos which can have very loud music.

We're sailing with an 8G, 7433 I think, in July. Situated nicely in the middle of the aft rooms with rooms above and below.
