Nice downtown to walk around and shop?

After we snorkel awhile and lay on the beach, is there a nice downtown area to walk around and shop in?

Yes, very nice, very safe

Or is it just too expensive?

That depends on what/how much you want to buy, and what "expensive" means to you.

I think we'd be going to 7-mile beach.

Good choice, have fun.

The people of Grand Cayman are the nicest people of all the Caribbean islands. We stayed there for 2 weeks last July and fell in love with the island and the people on the island. At first we took private taxis everywhere, but then we started taking the public "bus" system. It's really a 10 passenger van, is very cheap ($4 if I remember correctly) and was a great opportunity to meet other people (locals and tourists). I would never do that on any of the other islands!
