transportation in Roatan

We will be in Roatan next week. We just want to go to West End beaches (maybe Bananarama) to snorkel and lay in the sun. We haven't booked any transportation because we are not sure how many of us will be going to the beach. Will it be hard to find transportation to and from the port? From other postings, it looks like we can expect to pay $20-25 each. Sound right? Thanks, Jean

We paid $50 total for four of us in October for a cab in Roatan. There are about 400 cabs when you get off the ship, all owned by the same two guys. Our driver was wonderful and would take us anywhere. He took us to the beach and hung around for as long as we were there (a few hours) to take us back to the ship.

i booked a tour last month in roatan and i paid 25 pp for canopy and beach, but the lady told me for only beach they would charge 15 pp depending on how large the group was.

I assume you may have already finished your cruise, so this may be for others asking the same questions.

Your price of $25pp is inline with typical quality drivers. You may get it for less, but then the driver may not speak english, and may not have the best vehicle.

There are lots of independent operators that have Beach days designed for cruise guests, and it may include some extras that may be desirable.
