beany Posted February 25, 2009 #51 Share Posted February 25, 2009 kooljammg: We were on the same cruise. Totally agree with being forced to stop and take notice; I usually run all over a ship, all day long, afraid I'm going to miss something and this was the first time I didn't feel the need to. This was my first Princess cruise and I found it to be more serene and relaxing than most. Don't get me wrong, I spent time in the casino, took dance lessons, went to art auctions, set my kids up with ceramics, spent time in the Thermal Spa Suite, etc., but never felt I had to do everything. I thought the service was incredible, including most waiters in the anytime dining rooms. Welcome to Princess.....I so agree with you......I seem to gravitate to Princess because of that "feel-good-feeling" that we ALWAYS get! We are scheduled for two more Princess cruises this year and I can't wait to get onboard and just "veg!" ;) Funny, I really didn't realize the more relaxed atmosphere until days into the trip. I think it may be that the staff, although they work very hard and are truly wonderful, they don't seem as harried as the staff on other ships. They actually seem to like what they do. Have a great time!
bluenoser2 Posted February 25, 2009 #52 Share Posted February 25, 2009 thanks for the great pics and the positive review of the Sapphire. We're heading to Vancouver in June for our 25th wedding anniversary and will be celebrating on the Sapphire in Alaska, so it was great to see the room shots on Emerald Deck since we just got upgraded from a fully obstructed to a DD on Emerald #108! Your pics didn't quite make it that far down the hall but it was such fun to see all the info and the food...oh the food......

Have a great time! I think another reason for the more relaxed feeling was no one was pushing the foo-foo drinks on deck, or photographers ambusing around every corner. I got home feeling very relaxed and pleased with my purchases. We bought 3 pics from formal night and got 1 free, got the soda card and enjoyed a few drinks each day. I did not feel pushed into buying anything.
