Carnival Transportation/Hotel

Just did a search on this but it didn't quite answer my question...

 

I'm in the process of trying to decide on a pre-night hotel for our October cruise. Unless I'm reading things wrong, it looks like we could do a night at the Tampa Airport Marriott (through Carnival) for $78pp and it includes transportation to/from pier. It seems like this might be a good option cost wise.

 

However, we don't have any experience with Carnival's transfers. I know I've seen posts about waiting for buses to fill up. Do they have a set time that they would leave from the hotel or do they have more than one bus departure? We like to get on board as soon as possible to start the vacation. :D

 

Any info will be helpful...since I know nothing. :o

If its just 2 people $160 for an airport hotel, even with transportation to the ship sounds pricey. Im sure you can find a great hotel for half that and take a taxi to the ship.

 

There not much to do out by the airport.

 

Hopefully someone can post some actual prices for a comparison.

They are supposed to have a set time but they do wait until all the passengers have arrived & boarded.

That does seem quite pricey! I am always an advocate of finding hotels that have airport shuttle AND shuttles to the port! They are great. I have only done Carnival's transportation once and I will never do it again - huge stress factor for me!
