transatlantic fan Posted February 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2009 So looks like Cunard will be using the new Ocean Terminal at Berth 46 as of May this year. http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/cruise_ship.asp
Rare Host Sharon Posted February 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 25, 2009 Yes, our QM2 cruise in June is from there. Hopefully it will not make much difference, except it is nearer to the town centre, although the new Ikea could be a problem traffic wise!

rjms74 Posted February 26, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2009 Does this mean the QEII terminal - berth 38/9 will eventually be closed down? Kind Regards, RJMS74
Southampton Cruiser Posted February 26, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2009 No it will not close down. The Ocean Terminal has been built with Carnival money from their 20 year deal to cope with increasing demand. In August there are 5 ships scheduled in one day and regularly for the past couple of years there have been 4. The VTS schedule is only a rough guide and often full of mistakes. They had QM2 sailing at 5pm on the 22nd October last year when anyone living around here could tell you all ships owned by Carnival sailing for refit go at noon. Your tickets will tell you which terminal you're going from while the movements are the most accurate source of information a day or two before you sail in case of any changes. It will also say whether your ship will be docked port or starboard.
