The cruise we are booked on (April 16) is supposed to leave Miami at 5 pm.

 

What is the latest we can check-in on the cruise?

We will be arriving the day before in Miami, but we'd rather visit something than spend the day at the pool onboard.

I would suggest looking into an getting an excursion tour of some kind that brings you to the ship at the end.You may not want to go it on your own in a strange place on a weekday not knowing how traffic is while trying to get to the ship at the last minute.Two hours before sailing is the latest i'd be.Check with the cruiseline

You must be checked in at least 90 minutes before sailing time if you have an express pass. If not, you must be checked in two hours before. Please allow yourself plenty of time - traffic can be awful and if you are renting a car, the shuttles from the rental facilites are about 20 minutes away and there may be a long line.

Due to new government regulations requiring cruise lines to submit final departure manifests at least 60 minutes prior to sailing, guests are requested to complete Online Check-in no later than 3 days prior to their cruise. If you have not completed Online Check-in, you will be required to complete this process at the pier two hours prior to the published sailing time.

 

Please note: Xpress Pass guests whose cruise departs from ports in the United States are required to be at the pier and checked-in no later than 90 minutes prior to the published sailing time or you may not be permitted to board. For a cruise that departs from other ports not in the United States, please verify on your Guest Ticket Booklet.
