Interesting Question

Does anyone know what the mouthpiece on the ship's snorkel equipment is made of? I need to know if it has laytex in it. Thanks!

I don't know what it is made of but I think it's a safe bet that all the snorkels on all the ships are not the same. If you have some type of allergy to latex you would be better off buying your own snorkel.

Allergies to laytex are pretty serious so I would think they would not be made of laytex but I would take the other posters advice and buy my own, you can get them fairly cheap at any dive shop or online.

The ones sold in the US are made of a silicon based rubber material, NOT latex.

 

Best to check though, as they may buy from cheapest bidder.

I too have a latex allergy-- and have snorkeled many times-- no problems yet... but I guess you never know.
