Shopping on Bernard's Tour

Hi,

I will be in St Maarten on honeymoon in June and would really like to do Bernard's Tour. My H2B has promised me a wedding present in the form of jewellery from the island, so I'm just wondering if we'll have enough time for shopping? Does the tour go to the best value jewellery shops on the island?

Thanks

Kelly :)

The only place Bernard's specifically goes to is Rima's, which is a VERY discount souvenir place. Think beach bags, postcards, shotglasses, beach wear. The stuff there was cheap - much of it in both senses of the word.

After Bernard's official tour ends, you have the option of being taken back to your ship or left in Philipsburg to shop. That's where you can shop for your jewelry. He gave our group about an hour and 20 minutes, and some options of how to return to the ship (walk, water taxi or regular taxi). You'd have to do your homework before arriving to figure out where the best value jewelry stores would be in Philipsburg.
