Inexpensive Fun in Key West, Nassau, Freeport?

It depends on restrooms... If you can get a day pass (usually $15pp) you can use restrooms/pool/bars...

On the beach are some clamshells that are rented by the day. It's mostly guests but you can ask. There is a swim-up bar/pool right at the beach... I've seen people get in and buy drinks and not be hassled BUT drinks are not cheap!

This is in front of the Westin/Sheraton resort complex.

At the marketplace are restrooms/bars/food/shopping/etc.

I'm beginning to think this might be a good day to just stay on the ship. Just sounds like a lot of hassle to go to the beach. I'll have to think on this - we leave tomorrow, though, so not much time to figure it out!

Depending on the time you are in Freeport, that may be an option. I would suggest waiting til everyone gets off, then wander off and near the ship is a small "straw market" and bar... get a "trinket" and drink, then wander back on. Do not take this as the island as the ship docks in an industrial area but the island has wonderful beaches... it's just more of a land based vacation place. Go back and stay a few days and you will come to love the island and its people.

Does anyone know the taxi fare from the port to Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach Resort? We were thinking about getting a day pass at the Wyndham. It is all inclusive and is $60 per per person. On the ship it is $90. The cab fare could definitely make the difference.

That is where the ship thing may be better... I've taken the cab from the port before to Viva and it was around $15pp each way. I would think with the guarantee of the ship getting you back it's a no brainer to do the ship thing.

In Freeport we took a taxi to Our Lucaya beach. This was $5/person each way. Inexpensive, yet we had a good time. In Nassau we went to the British Colonial Hilton. This is walking distance from the ship. We payed $20/adult to use the chairs, pool, beach, and towels. Another awesome experience for a small price. For Key West we booked the trolley tour online direct with the company. I don't remember the price we paid, but it was much less than booking directly with the cruiseline.
