cruise_2007zz Posted March 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2009 I want to book a msc cruise next spring, I'm trying to find out what one would be better. They are the same price and I have two young kids. Any help would be great :)
kvo725 Posted March 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2009 It all depends on what you are looking for. Two years ago we did a Caribbean cruise on the Empress that also included Bermuda. This was in mid and April the weather was fantastic, but was rather cool in Bermuda (low to mid 70s) really not swimming weather, although we did. I'm not sure if Royal Caribbean still does this route but it departed from San Jaun went to St Thomas, St Maarten, 1 & 1/2 Days in Bermuda an ended in Norfolk, VA. It was a repositioning cruise. Was by far the best cruise we have done. All islands were beautiful.
boca7 Posted March 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2009 Bermuda is beautiful but the water is going to be cold in April, plus the ship this yr docks at the shipyard not in town, which is a good bus ride away. I have done Bermuda both staying there & via cruiseline. Its less expensive via cruise.
heydn62 Posted March 10, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2009 I think we'll be taking Poesia to the E. Caribbean next spring. The itinerary is not the most kid friendly I've seen - particularly arriving in San Juan at 5:00 pm, but it will be warmer in the Caribbean. Bermuda is alot further north and I imagine the weather there will more closely resemble that in N. Carolina than the Caribbean - probably comfortable in April, but potentially cool.
