Best Tour Guide in Jamaica

Cannot agree more about TRevor. After reading good reviews about him I contacted him for a tour of Dunns River Falls and just a general day of beaching and hanging in Ocho Rios. We let him know what we wanted and he delivered. He met us at the pier and the day was ours to do with what we wanted. We started at the falls before the crowds which was very important to us. We didn't want to be among the masses who hold hands and climb. So first thing we were escorted into the falls area by Trevor, who was shown the utmost respect by the people working the falls, I might mention. Some advice...don't listen to anyone saying you cannot climb the falls alone. You can and should. I am 50 my husband 62. We're in good health and couldn't see waiting for a guide to bring several of us up when this would have defeated the purpose The guide couldn't have been nicer and told us to watch our step and initially to keep to the left, but common sense tells you where to step. Just take it slowly. In fact, I can't imagine having done this holding anyones hand, let alone someone I didn't know. At times you are on your hands and knees, laughing your head off at the predicament you have put yourself in, but a blast it is.

We decided to tour the island and swim the remainder of the day and Trevor took us around and showed us the different plants and points of interest in Ocho Rios before heading off to Reggae Beach for a quick swim. He is very knowledgeable about the island and everything growning on it and it made for a very interesting day. I will definitely book him for our next tour, this time I'd like to tour Bob Marleys home and studio and I know he will be the perfect guide. He is a man of great humility, pride and best of all, a great sense of humor. His contact info is: Trevor hudlin www34.brinkster.com/trevhudlintours/default.html

Thanks for the review. I have a question for you -- Trevor said he prefers to be paid in cash for his tour. In our case it will be about $300. And he said he prefers to be paid at the end of the tour. I'm wondering what you do with that much cash during your tour -- like when you are at the Falls? I'm nervous about carrying that much cash in Jamaica!!

I too had some stuff I didn't want to lug to the falls so I left it in his van. I stressed this to Trevor and he promised to lock his van when he wasn't in it. He mostly sits around waiting right next to or in his van so your stuff is pretty safe. You could always insist he take the cash first, but I don't think you'll have a problem.
