scteacher31 Posted March 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2009 My family and I are driving to Florida for our upcoming cruise. I noticed, when looking at the directions, that we get off of I-95 and get on the Turnpike but then get back on I-95. What's the point of this? Is it faster? I thought you just stayed on I-95 the whole way. Thanks!!
Maryandi Posted March 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2009 Of course you can stay on I-95 the whole way. Some people do switch back & forth to avoid the more congested downtown areas of West Palm Beach & Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, etc. Except for rush hour times of the day, you should have no problems with I-95. MaryAnn
psblin99 Posted March 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 14, 2009 95 and the turnpike almost touch just north of Palm Beach. As previously said my advice depends on the time of day. I would switch during rush hours.

Rush hour is conjested on I-95 so avoid 7-10AM and 3-7PM.
