Which Continental in which city?? Being Europe I am going to say NOT paper..I have never seen paper plates yet and I have stayed in a wide range of hotels..but one never knows:o

If you mean the Hotel Continental in Barcelona, the plates are paper (perhaps cardboard or plastic, can't remember for sure, but not real plates or cups) and the utensils and cups styrofoam and paper. They have recycling bins set up for everything once you are finished eating and drinking. We loved our stay there. after completing a 21 day cruise and we found the food there to be perfectly adequate for our post-cruise days. We had done the tapas and other local food during our pre-cruise stay. Particularly like the free wine and beer!

Same with the sister hotel The Hotel Continental Palacete - paper plates and styrofoam cups - but great place to stay!
