Taxi to the reef resort?

has anyone taken a taxi to the resort? Can you buy food/use the resort without doing it through a tour company?

You can take a taxi from the pier to the resort, just be aware that taxi only charge you for transportation, getting there you have to pay the entrance fee (about US$40 to 45p/person). Other way is buying a tour to Autoprogreso, this company gives the shuttle service to town and make tours too, cheaper than onboard. Check prices when you get off the ship and decide yourself.
