First Timer

My husband and I will be visiting Cozumel for the first time in March (we are mid-twenties). I have read many threads on these boards and they are very helpful. I need some advice: I have reserved Mayan Paradise for Snuba/snorkeling, and then plan on spending the rest of the day shopping/looking around/eating. Here goes:

1. Is Cozumel a good place for snorkeling? (we went to Discovery Cove in Orlando, and that is our only experience, and we really liked it)

2. For first timers, what activities would you do on the island from 7 am until 6 pm?

3. Is snorkeling half a day, then eating/shopping a do-able plan?

We are not "lay around on the beach" people, but some of that would be good, too.

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

Cozumel is probably one of the world's best places for snorkeling, even more so for SCUBA. Snorkeling for a half day is just about right for most people, and having looked at Zydecocruiser's review of Mayan Paradise Tours (See similar thread by that name) it looks like you made a good choice. Zy, has some good pictures up there too.
