Has anyone visited this winery recently? I found a very old thread (back to 2005) but wondered if anyone has visitied recently and could provide some feedback if it was worthwhile to see. We're looking something other than the ruins on this stop.

I asked the same question recently and the only reply I had was that Greek wine isn't very good.:(

 

Ruby Princess offers an afternoon tour to the winery (and a morning tour to the ruins) and I'm wondering if you can go to the winery on your own by taxi and not through the ship.

I've seen some mixed reviews about how far the winery is from the port - one said approx 5 minutes - another said 20 minutes. Either way seems doable for a taxi - re: Greek wine not being good - everyone has their own opinion and I prefer to form my own. I'd go just for the scenery if it were good.
