Coolcruise02 Posted March 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2009 Can anyone tell me where the pictures are taken of the Space Needle with Mt. Rainier in the background? I have seen a couple that look like they are from a hill away from downtown. Thanks!
SeattleCruiselover Posted March 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2009 Can anyone tell me where the pictures are taken of the Space Needle with Mt. Rainier in the background? I have seen a couple that look like they are from a hill away from downtown. Thanks! Most likely from Kerry Park in Queen Anne. http://www.seattle.gov/parks/park_detail.asp?ID=
Coolcruise02 Posted March 25, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted March 25, 2009 Thanks! Is walking the best way to get there from the Space Needle?
Coolcruise02 Posted March 25, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted March 25, 2009 I just read a post about photo ops form Queen Anne Hill Park. Is that different than the Kerry Park in Queen Anne? Thanks again!
Rare Gardyloo Posted March 25, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 25, 2009 I just read a post about photo ops form Queen Anne Hill Park. Is that different than the Kerry Park in Queen Anne? Thanks again! Don't know of any Queen Anne Hill Park. There's a (newish) Trolley Hill Park, but it doesn't have a view of downtown, if that's what the post referred to. Most likely it was Kerry Park. Coolcruise02 Posted March 25, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted March 25, 2009 If you google "queen anne hill" the 3rd-4th site is nwlink.com with a picture. (sorry I don't know how to paste it here) Is this the same as Kerry Park?
love2cruiseseattle Posted March 25, 2009 #7 Share Posted March 25, 2009 If it is this picture, then the other posters are correct Downtown Seattle and the Space Needle, with Mt. Rainier in the background, from Kerry Park You can walk there from the Space Needle, but you will have to walk up a few hills.

SeattleCruiselover Posted March 25, 2009 #9 Share Posted March 25, 2009 Thanks! Is walking the best way to get there from the Space Needle? I'd take the bus. It's up a very steep hill. http://transit.metrokc.gov and use the trip planner from your point of origiin to Kerry Park.
Coolcruise02 Posted March 25, 2009 Author #10 Share Posted March 25, 2009 Thanks, do you recognize the park in the link I posted above?
SeattleCruiselover Posted March 26, 2009 #11 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Thanks, do you recognize the park in the link I posted above? I'm 99% sure it is Kerry Park. It is at about the altitude of the top of the Space Needle or a little higher. The angle looks right.
Rare Gardyloo Posted March 26, 2009 #12 Share Posted March 26, 2009 Where is this? http://www.nwlink.com/~stevea/queen_anne.html All the pics are from Kerry Park, except (I think) nos. QA9, 17 and 18, all 3 of which show Pier 91 and the Magnolia Bridge.
