Okay now I am confused.....my tickets say I am in a aft minisuite....what does that mean, does it mean I am on the back of the ship, balcony will face the wake or the sides? It looks like I am on the port side of the ship when you view the lay out of all the different floors online.....but if that is the case what does the AFT mean then.....?

If the cabin layout shows your cabin number to be on the port side, then this is where you are. The entire back (half?) of the ship is considered "aft" and is not limited to just the absolute back of the ship (stern).

As others have stated AFT is the direction facing the Stern of the ship it is the back 1/3 of the ship. There is in fact no THE aft. any more than there is a THE left or THE Right or The UP or THE down. The cabins you are referring to that everyone on here incorrectly call aft cabins are in fact STERN cabins or cabins on the Stern.

So presumably your cabin is on the side of the ship in the back third of the ship.
