What are the best buys and what buys are "specific" to Barbados?

Specific would be Mount Gay Rum and Sugar Cane Brandy. Earthworks Pottery, and Medford Mahogony pieces.

 

what is Malibu beach break? It's located at a beach in front of the Malibu Rum plant. not sure whats there but your cruise excursions info should have a little something

Can we use hotel pools? which recommended? Only use hotel pools if you have a day pass, and if the day pass allows it. I would more recommend a beach than a pool..

 

What is Accra Beach Hotel and what is Sandy Beach Hotel? They are not that far apart but Accra Beach Hotel is on Accra Beach and Sandy Beach hotel is on Sandy Beach.. (sorry, but it's that simple). Each beach is a bit different and each hotel has different amenities. Not sure if either has a day pass but check their websites which I sure they have.

 

How much is taxi to each? I would say possibly about 20.00Barbados, or maybe 20.00usd.. unsure but will try to find out.

Sorry Can't answer this one.. even though I live here, never heard of Coral Resort.. but if it's where I think it is and what you might be talking about, I'm not familiar with the hotel, but the Beach is Sandy Beach. Which is a long stretch of beach with fairly flat waters..

 

 

confused between Sandy Beach and Sandy Lane Bay in Barbados.

Sandy beach is on the more mid priced southcoast. Sandy Lane Hotel, a resently renovated 5-6 star expensive resort on the west coast.. and Sandy Lane Bay, which is the beach in that area. I prefer Paynes Bay which is just south of Sandy Lane.

 

All the beaches are public in Barbados it's just how you get to them that matters. You can't just walk through hotels and their grounds but all of them are required to have at least 1 public access road close by.

Don't forget the Calypso Rum Cakes you can sample and purchase right in the Pier Terminal shops.... They are yummy!!!

Along these same lines, Princess offers an excursion that goes to the Mount Gay Distillery, a brewery and beach bar. Has anyone done this or would we better off making these stops on our own? Apparently it is a 4 hour tour for $52.

Thanks for any help/suggestions, as we have never been in Barbados. :o
