Best Place to Eat

We will be in port area and to the village on Carnival May 30th. Anyone have any great suggestions for Restaurant. We like inexpensive places that are of course safe.

We ate at El Delphin in January. Very good, lots of food for the money. It is about the middle of the malecon.

 

What we do is walk from the north end of town to the south along the malecon and look at menus. When get to the south end, we turn around and go the place that looked good to us.

WE WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN NOR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. That said, I will explain. We went with high recommendations. We weren't dressed as beach goers, we had proper attire for a restaurant.

We were seated (4 of us) & our order was taken. We ordered our food & drinks at the same time - 2 beers 1 margarita & 1 bottle of water. The alcohol was delivered within 15 minutes. Water - 30 minutes. One of us went downstairs to get a bottle of water then the one ordered was finally delivered. We sat for 1 hr 45 min. then a waiter delivered a plate that was actually for the table behind us who had been waiting longer than us. While we were all there, a table of four were seated & they got ALL of their order within 20 minutes. Needless to say we left as did the family behind us. We tried to pay the bill for the drinks we had & were told the bill was upwards of $35. We informed the waiter that the drink total was $11 & he said he had to go ask his boss. ????? This took another 30 Min.

We were paying for what we consumed.....It's not that hard to figure out. This was ridicules. Someone needs to manage this place in a better manner. Service was horrible at best.

We ended up at Cappys & had the BEST SERVICE EVER. DO NOT TRUST the vendors. We were recommended El Delphin by a vendor as well as this board and :eek:. Cappys A++++++
