Wedding at Gallery Inn Old San Juan. Where is a good place to stay??

My son is headed to Puerto Rico in June for a wedding. The wedding is at the Gallery Inn in Old San Juan. This is a smaller bed and breakfast and is already booked with family members. Can anyone recommend a hotel that is in walking distance? Also, from the message boards, I found a recommendation for the Marriott San Juan Resort and Stellaris Casino. I think he and his friends (25 to 30 age range) would love it there. Is there reasonable transportation (buses) from the Marriott to where he would need to be for the wedding? It is about a 10 minute drive. Thanks.
